In 1995, the Ericksen-Mendoza family established the Hispanic Link Journalism Foundation to provide Hispanics with opportunities to sharpen their writing skills, pursue journalism careers and educate the general population — nationally and internationally — on issues relevant to Hispanics.

Using Washington, D.C. resources as a base, the Foundation provides educational and professional enhancement and/or training. We are dedicated to the advancement of individuals interested in or pursuing media and journalism careers, through fellowships, internships and scholarships.

Hispanic Link New Service is a national news agency founded in February 1980 by Charles A. Ericksen, Sebastiana Mendoza Ericksen and Héctor Ericksen-Mendoza. The service syndicates opinion, editorial and feature columns to newspapers and magazines thought the Americas via the Los Angeles times Syndicate. It also publishes Hispanic Link Weekly Report, a national news weekly that covers Hispanic issues and trends.

Since 1981, Hispanic Link has trained aspiring Hispanic journalists for professional careers through reporting internships and editorial training in the nation's capital. Following their one-year internships working as correspondents, Link-trained journalists have moved on to become reporters and editors in influential media markets such as New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Antonio, Boston, Miami and Washington, D.C.
